This Privacy Policy explains how Day Planner (“we”, “our”, or “app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Task Data: Task titles, notes, dates, times, priority, reminders, and context (work/personal) that you create in the app
  • Journal Data: Daily reflections, mood entries, and evening review notes you choose to record
  • Account Information (optional): If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account
  • Settings: Theme, notification tone, default reminder time, and other preferences

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device model and operating system version, used only to keep the app working correctly on your device
  • No Usage Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not track your behaviour in the app

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Service Provision

  • Core Functionality: To store and organize your tasks, journal entries, and planning data
  • Reminders: To schedule local notifications for tasks you set reminders on
  • Account Management: To identify your account if you choose to sign in and sync
  • Insights: To generate your personal completion statistics and weekly summaries, calculated entirely from your own data

3.2 App Improvement

We use bug reports you voluntarily send us to fix issues and improve the app. We do not collect this information automatically.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

  • Primary Storage: All your tasks and journal entries are stored locally on your device in a secure on-device database
  • Offline Access: The app works fully offline — an internet connection is only needed for optional cloud sync and sign-in

4.2 Optional Cloud Sync

  • User Control: Cloud backup and cross-device sync are optional and only activate if you sign in with Google
  • Where It’s Stored: Synced data is stored securely with our backend provider, Supabase, using encrypted connections
  • Authentication Tokens: Sign-in tokens are stored securely on your device using Android’s encrypted secure storage

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your tasks and journal entries remain private.

5.2 Limited Sharing Scenarios

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or legal process
  • Service Providers: Limited sharing with the service providers listed in Section 6, solely to provide the app’s functionality
  • Business Transfer: In case of a merger or acquisition, with continued privacy protection

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Google Sign-In

Used only if you choose to sign in, to authenticate your account. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

6.2 Supabase

Our backend provider for optional cloud sync and backup of your task and journal data, used only if you sign in.

6.3 RevenueCat & App Store Billing

If you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play (or the Apple App Store) and managed via RevenueCat to activate your premium features. We do not have access to your payment card details.

6.4 No Advertising

Day Planner does not display ads and does not use any advertising SDK.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Local Access: All your data is accessible and editable directly in the app
  • Account Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes all local data; signed-in users can request deletion of their synced data by contacting us
  • Sign Out: You can sign out or disconnect Google Sign-In at any time from Settings
  • Notifications: You can disable reminder notifications in Settings or in your device’s system settings

8. Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you sign in, synced data is retained on our servers until you delete your account or request removal by contacting us.

9. Children’s Privacy

Day Planner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. International Data Transfers

All processing happens locally on your device by default. If you sign in, your synced data may be processed and stored on Supabase’s servers, which may be located outside your country of residence, and is protected using industry-standard encryption.

11. Security Measures

We use encrypted connections for all cloud sync traffic, and store authentication tokens using your device’s secure storage. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date below. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
